The Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) is the central government agency responsible for addressing national issues and activities related to space science and technology applications and their key development areas. PhilSA develops people, knowledge, technologies, and partnerships that enable the effective use of space science and technology to address critical national needs, strengthen resilience and security, support sustainable development, and advance the Philippine space ecosystem.

PhilSA is expected to contribute to the assessment and application of the World Ecosystem Extent Dynamic (WEED) Toolbox in the Philippine context by providing relevant Earth observation data and technical expertise in remote sensing and geospatial analysis. The experience and results from the project will help assess the potential of the WEED Toolbox to support future ecosystem mapping and monitoring initiatives in the Philippines and contribute to the development of locally relevant ecosystem information.
